How to temporarily alter a PROFILE

Temporarily disable the password verify function and set it back to the original value again when you're done:

SQL> ALTER PROFILE DEFAULT LIMIT password_verify_function NULL;
Profile altered.

SQL> ALTER PROFILE DEFAULT LIMIT password_verify_function VERIFY_PASSWORD;

Profile altered.
